7 Steps Of Any Morning Skincare Routine

Every individual has unique skin resulting in slightly different skincare regimen that they follow every day. Although, there are some fundamental tips about how to make a difference between morning and nighttime skincare routine.

It is true for both AM and PM skincare that using your skin care products in the correct order ensures that your skin receives the full advantage of each product and provides the best possible outcome in the long run. The order of application is especially significant. Sometimes the skin should keep elements out (like pollution), but many of the skincare products have ingredients our skin should take in. Generally, only a small bit of these key ingredients can enter the skin, even when perfectly applied. So if you don’t apply products following the right steps, you might not see the best result. As a quick recommendation, skin care products are the most effective when applied lightest to heaviest.

If you are interested to learn some tips and steps about effective morning skincare, read on for more details.

During your morning practice, the main point is to protect your skin from several external factors and elements that your skin will face during your daily activities. These include the sun, pollution and other unhealthy chemicals. Therefore, the morning routine should contain steps and tricks that hydrate and protect your skin:

1.Wash Your Face

The simplest and quickest part of your morning routine that you can do every morning after you get up is wash your face with cold water. Even if you are staying in the house, refreshing your face and keeping it clean is a big step towards getting a naturally glowing look. If you prefer, you can also use a face cleanser matching your skin type.

2. Find The Right Toner For You

Toners were originally intended to fix the pH of the skin after using soups. Generally, each toner is designed for a different skin type, so it’s essential to find the right kind for your skin. Although, nowadays face cleansers are more pH balanced. Therefore, if you haven’t been using toner your entire life, there will be no harm to your skin if this product is not included in your morning routine.

3. Use Of Antioxidant Serums

It can be very effective to implement the use of antioxidant serums into your morning routine. Serums are highly concentrated fluids of specific active ingredients to the skin. Antioxidants (like Vitamin C serum) defend skin by limiting the formulation of free radicals that can harm skin cells. It can provide a lot of benefits to your skin such as reducing inflammation, skin firming, repair of sun damage and more.

4. Use Eye Cream To Prevent Collagen Loss

The skin around your eyes is a very delicate tissue which is a lot thinner than  the skin on the rest of your face. That’s why, it is inevitable to pay extra attention to the regular use of eye cream. Prevention is essential, so people tend to start taking care of this area in their 20s. The goal is to maintain the elasticity of your eyelid skin and the skin area under your eye to prevent collagen loss.

5. Use Moisturizer

Moisturizing your skin on your face and neck is a very significant step of your morning skincare regime. You should lock in the necessary hydration that your skin needs. If you are also using an acne spot treatment, you might want to leave the already treated areas untouched. When applying your moisturizer you want to ensure it won’t prevent the acne treatment’s active ingredients from working.

If you are dealing with rosacea, very dry, dehydrated skin, cuts, wounds or scarring caused by acne or eczema, you might want to add another step to your morning skincare routine.

6. Use Sun Protection

Protecting your skin from the sun is one of the most important things to do in the morning as part of your routine. Too much sun exposure without proper protection allows UV rays to reach your deeper skin layers, which can cause skin cells to die or get damaged. It is recommended to use sunscreen with at least SPF 30, preferably fragrance-free, oil-free and noncomedogenic. Even on cloudy days, up to 80 % of the sun’s harmful UV rays can penetrate your skin.

7. Drink Water On An Empty Stomach

Drinking a glass of water on an empty stomach helps to retain the elasticity of your skin and prevent the forming of wrinkles. It also hydrates skin, so it looks more glowing, brighter and softer during the day.

To summarize the main point of a well-designed morning skincare routine, the focus is hydration. You should be preparing your skin to fight against external factors such as the sun's harmful UV radiations and pollution throughout the day. The order of the application of different kinds of products is essential to ensure that all necessary active ingredients are be absorbed by the skin.

To have a perfect daily skincare regimen, during your nighttime skincare routine your primary concern should be rejuvenating and repairing your skin. In our future blog post, you will find out more about how to treat your skin before going to bed every night.
