Most Common Rosacea Triggers

There are approximately 415 million people around the world affected by rosacea . Rosacea is a very common skin condition that causes redness and visible blood vessels in your face. It may also produce small, red bumps.

Although the cause of rosacea is still unknown, there is constant ongoing research trying to figure out the reason behind the appearance of rosacea. While there is no cure, science has advanced a lot of information about symptoms and signs of this skin condition so it can be efficiently controlled with medical therapy and lifestyle changes. If an individual suspects they may have rosacea, they are advised to see a dermatologist or other qualified physician for diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

Major Signs Of Rosacea

Flushing. A very common sign of rosacea is frequent blushing and flushing. This facial redness might be followed by a sensation of burning or warm feeling.
Pimples and Bumps. Another noticeable symptom is the development of small red solid bumps or pus-filled pimples. While these may resemble acne, usually blackheads are absent and burning might coming along with the bump.
Eye Irritation. In case of many rosacea patients, the eyes may be irritated and appear watery or bloodshot, a condition commonly known as ocular rosacea. The eyelids may also become red and swollen, and styes are common.
Visible Blood Vessels. In many people with rosacea, prominent and visible small blood vessels.

    Anything that makes your rosacea flare is called a trigger. Triggers differ from person to person. Before starting any type of treatments, dermatologists usually suggest to discover the triggers, then confirm them and finally make some changes or totally avoid them. Some of the most common triggers include sun exposure, extreme heat, extreme cold, alcohol consumption, spicy food, hair spray, wind and stress.

    Triggers can vary for each and every individual. If you manage to discover the triggers that apply to you and your skin condition, try to adapt, change your lifestyle a little bit and eliminate the causes that make your rosacea appear.
